On August 1, 2013 I left my homestate of Michigan and headed west to Colorado. I started this blog as a way of keeping my friends and family in touch with my mile-high adventures, as well as my new life in dental school.

My Story

I grew up in a farming village outside the border-town of Port Huron, Michigan, and spent summers living with my military father all over the world.  After high school, I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where I spent the best four years of my life.  After graduation, I was offered an opportunity to be a dental assistant at the pediatric dental office I had spent a year shadowing in college.  I also worked weekends in a bar, where I met so many incredible people.  I spent my year off applying and interviewing at dental schools, and on December 3, 2012, I received a phone call saying I was accepted to my top-choice dental schools -- Michigan and the University of Colorado.  Choosing which institution would shape my future and professional career was the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my life.  Eventually, the free spirit in me won out and I decided to leave my life in Michigan behind and move west to Denver.
